I began doing commissioned pieces about 10 years ago, but only about 3 years ago did I recognize the value that it could truly have to a person. When I was very young my parents got a beautiful oilportrait done of my first kitty, Kitunia, and naturally I loved it. 3 years ago she passed away. I have plenty of photos of her, but the painting holds so much more value to me. I recently had a client of a portrait I did a few years ago reach out to me with the same sad news of their beloved dog, Kong, with the same sentiment. The painting now sits in their lovely Inn. I am honored to have given them something that they can hold on to their companion and remember him by. I treat all commissions with this in mind- it is, after all, a quality snapshot of time.
